Does anyone know the Rx for the CT Stape police helicopter, as well as lifestar?

Ct State PD Helo and Planes (Trooper 1 and Air7,8) use the trunked system, usually utilizing the "SWCOMM" talkgroups. Lifestar uses 155.385 for comms.

Thanks for the help but that leads me to a new question. I am new to this and have a radio schack portable Pro-94. I am having problems setting the trunked codes. I can't or really don't understand the conversions of the decimal system. It is tough being the new guy....stupid questions for easy answers

Your not going to hear CSP on that scanner. It is digital.

Dear pftwav,

I'm sorry, but you won't be able to hear any communication from the Connecticut State Police with a Pro-94.

You need an APCO-25 card for digital communications. Look for a new/used BC-250 or BC-296. Remember to buy the APCO-25 card, too! Then you'll be listening to the State Police and other systems in no time.

The BC-250 and BC-296 come with detailed user's guides, so you'll figure out trunking pretty quickly. Many places that sell the digital scanners will also program them for you for a small extra fee (mine was $35). Otherwise, I played around with the scanner and learned from there.

Good luck to you.

word to the wise...i would stay away from the 785D w/ the Apco card in it...it's quite slow at decoding the CSP system.
