For the record ( and to finish an old dangling posted question http://forums.radioreference.com/ontario/240868-ctv-c-fctv-helicopter.html)
"call-up frequencies" are known to most aviation fans... They are geographical fixes- often near airfields or approach fixes or airspace transitions, where pilots call up the designated radio contorl area (FSS)....e.g. "Holland Landing Radio , this it helicopter ABC at 1200 feet "etc...used mostly for VFR traffic, as would be likely used by CTV and media choppers on VFR.
I have also heard them using other airband frequiencies for the "live feed" traffic reports", granted, it's been a long while. Scan the "air to ground" frequencies perhpas ( as listed in the Canadain ATC/aviation frequency monitoring website)
PS - call up fixes and frequencies are listed on VFR charts.
