Ps. Have you gotten any of the alpha-code EAM's from Andrews AFB? These are similar to a numbers broadcast - but in English of course, and phonetic letters instead of numbers. You can catch these at night time (on upper sideband) 6739 kHz or 8992 kHz. Sometimes 4724 kHz also. These transmissions are usually only about 3 minutes or so.

Cool! I just finished reading your reply and tuned to 6739 khz, and I just heard one, Foxtrot, Tango, Uniform etc. Who and where are these messages directed to? I am listening off the whip and she came in really clear, I am just getting into the shortwave thing, but I find it really interesting, I have a eton S350DL I bought on clearance from National Geographic on closeout for 39.95, it's a good bedside radio, I also have a Sony SW7600GR, a surprisingly good little radio, and a Satellit 800 I also got from National Geographic on closeout for 179.99, I love that one, my wife says I am banned from purchasing anymore radios for a while, but that Icom R75 looks awful nice...
