Look at this software, a lot of people use this along with Trunking Recorder I believe. I use DSDPlus
Fastlane, 10 bucks a year, 25 lifetime I believe. UniTrunker does P25, its free. To me SDRTrunk is the
less complicated to run, fill in the blanks kinda. UniTrunker, you need to provide a lot of info, same
with DSDPlus Fastlane.

I don't recall Unitrunker needing much info to get going but it's not very intuitive. After it's setup it works great and has excellent logging. Let it run for a few days on a p25 system and it will log most of the talk groups and the hits for each. This info can then be used to program a p25 scanner.

From looking at the frequencies used in Cullman county, depending on what you want to listen to, you would need up to 3 sdrs to cover the 151-159 mhz range of the p25 systems that is used in the county, since a regular rtl-sdr only covers a 2.4mhz range at a time. To cover all the P25 & NBFM channels, probably 4 sdrs.

I also recommend SDRTrunk.

Just one Airspy R2 could be used instead for a simpler setup. They do cost a lot more but have a much lower noise and from what I have seen with the one I'm using it works really well on a busy P25 system.
