I was looking around on the CB Distributing website (cbdistributing.com) and found that they had the Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) posted for all of the Uniden scanners that they had listed on their site. It's the first time that I have seen this information publicly posted and thought it might be useful to anyone in the market for a new Uniden scanner. Some of the scanners have a MAP of "$0" so that could mean that a MAP is not in place for that particular model or that CB Distributing simply did not post the information.

Below are the MAP (with direct links) for the various Uniden scanners as posted on CB Distributing on 02-01-2024:

BC365CRS $0
BC125AT $0
BCD436HP $549.99
HOMEPATROL2 $599.99
BC355N $0
SR30C $119.99
BCD325P2 $449.99
BCT15X $0
BCD536HP $649.99
BCD996P2 $499.99
SDS200 $699.99
SDS100 $649.99
BCD160DN $249.99
BCD260DN $349.99

What is MAP pricing? "Minimum Advertised Price or MAP is the lowest price at which a retailer can advertise a particular product. Set by the manufacturer, MAP pricing helps protect the brand's value and profits by ensuring that the products cannot be priced below a pre-decided amount."

This explains how Main Trading Company gets around it. Advertise at one price, but when you put it in the cart you receive the "discounted price", so it's "advertised" at $649/$699 (SDS100/SDS200).

Yep, that's why you'll even see this on Amazon or Best Buy: "Add to cart to see the price"

But, MAP price does not dictate actual selling price.

Don't get yer hopes up too high:
"We are a wholesale distributor of electronic equipment. We ONLY sell to retail establishments. If you are an end user purchasing products for yourself, please Email us and we will have one of our closest dealers contact you."

If the reality is, I'm already looking forward to the collapse of the sellers!!
I will not give the money for the scanners anymore!!!
And I have been importing US versions of Unidens to the EU since 2007. Now I'm coughing on it !! Stick them in...

Why would we do that, when people have shown here you can get them for less.
Shop around and ask around, maybe you will find it lower than map, or just wait
you see SDS100 & 200 for sale 3 months after people buy them for $500 I got 2 996P2s for $500
E-Bay, Radio Reference, Facebook all have used for sale for 20-50% off some with factory warranty Why pay for new

I got my second SDS200 for $400 from a friend who just didn't want to mess with it anymore. It was 2 weeks old, and I had programmed it already for him. I gave him one of my Pro-651's after I felt guilty. He's happy, and I wasn't using it anyway.

the best course of action is to put as many scanners as you want and load them into a special Amazon wish list, then follow the prices daily till you feel that is the price you want to pay, and then check out, as for me I think buying a new scanner that 10 to 25 years old in the box and new on eBay is good too if you wanna go cheap and get a useful scanner, however the 536s I have cost me $430 each, the 436 cost $45o each so do the math, last year and now, or just watch prices as much as you want then go from there, I have another opinion but i don't share it till i ger my morning coffee in me.

You can also use a service like Keepa, to set a target price, and it will notify you if that item can be purchased at, or below, your target price, including lightning sales. I use Keepa, but I think you can do the same with CamelCamelCamel. (I've never used Camel, so do not know, specifically, it's features.)

Camel Camel Camel, isn't bad, i will check out Keepa, thanks for the recommendation, I always love to keep an eye on prices.
CamelCamelCamel is great and Amazon actually pays them. When Amazon drops prices on something because sales are slow, it is not much good if no one knows about the reduced price.

I just looked at Main Trading Company and they do not have anything Uniden listed. I was hunting for an SD100 .

You're welcome. I find their site is a bit awkward in how they list items and takes a little getting used to.

Yes it is to say the least. I don't mind the navigation as long as the service and prices are good ;)
