For those of you that monitor downriver Wayne County 800 system. Is it worth it to program in the Mutual Aid/Intersystem talk groups? Primarily the Fire North & South but also M/A 1, 2 & 3. Is there much fire dept related radio traffic?

Yes it is! Some of these talkgroups especially the Fire North and South ones tend to be rather active, when one department wants to communicate with another. Likewise, Mutual Aid/Intersystem talkgroups really come to life when there is a major emergency or disaster. These are the talkgroups that agencies will migrate to during such a crisis, so they can coordinate their resources in a much better and efficient manner. Personally, I would never leave them out of my scanner for these reasons alone.
