I noticed that there were a number of commercial rigs for sale this year. I thought about picking up a Motorola VHF or UHF rig, but decided not get one, I am already running out of room in my truck.
I was looking at a Uniden BC895XLT to use as a mobile scanner, then I remembered that I couldnt use it cause the 895XLT supports only Motorola trunked system and not EDACS which is what my county uses.
Then I looked at a Radio Shack mobile, again I decided not to get it, due to lack of room in my truck.
Thats when I decided on the 245XLT, which so far has been a good radio, with the exception of it not supporting rebanding, no alpha-numeric display, and the battery doesnt hold a charge.
