My observations and listening indicate the TAFY registered aircraft are DHS, not FBI. I've heard several ID with the OMAHA callsign with a squawk to match.
I've heard C206 N808ZT ID as SIERRA3. No idea who uses that callsign.

AB03BC N809EM C206 squawk is consistent with DHS.
N809VA N809US C206 6/2/2020 into Hammond, LA to Customs parking.
AB0498 N809PG Heard operating as OMAHA2 in NY
A04ECF N119NA is DOJ USMS JPATS, not FBI.

I haven't researched the rest of the TAFY a/c yet.

Who and how was N313CG determined to be FBI and not USMS, BOP or something else? A plane like that I would expect to hear ID as a JENA flight (like they do with their Gulfstreams and DH8D) if it was FBI. I've heard it ID as 313CG.

Most of the actual FBI aircraft stopped using mode-S so they couldn't be tracked.

Great info, thanks @freqhopping , however there are two entries in the FAA database for TAFY. TAFY I believe is DHS as you have said, they have two aircraft registered to them. However, there is a much longer list under the name T A F Y Consulting (spaces between letters) and those are believed to be FBI.

Both of these helos are (or were) DHS/CBP. I have seen them both in service locally supporting various activities and monitored them on CBP air channels. You have them listed as FBI / T A F Y Consulting.

I'm talking about all them whether it's TAFY with spaces or not. It's the same thing. The only ones I've mentioned here were registered with T A F Y.

Yes, after the url add /?icaofilter=modeS,modeS,... (where modeS is the aircraft mode s number) just like you see above

You are a man I want to communicate with. From reading your post to this thread you seem to know a lot about what I want to learn. I was overflown in a rural area twice in the last 2 days by two planes owned by T A F Y Consulting. We also have at least 2 Dash8s, one is OMAHA01, stationed close by at Conroe airport where there is an Army Reserve Aviation unit with a couple of dozen Blackhawks and Apaches, along with a what seems like a major regional DHS presence which include Border Patrol, hence, the DASH8, but they don't perform just border patrol activities.

I'm not a pilot and I'd like to know how I can listen to aviation communication traffic, from the towers and between aircraft if that's possible.

I also know a lot of the activities of DHS, some FBI & DEA and a lot of military aircraft in the Southeast Texas area.

I have a question for anyone on this thread. Has anyone linked DOT Aviation LLC with DHS yet? It is connected and operates primarily PA44-180 Seminoles. All of them with tail numbers of N8**AT.

I have several other companies I'm relatively certain are DHS contractors as well. About 3 months ago the air traffic at Conroe and and Hooks airports probably grew by upwards of 300%. The same happened at Hunstville, Cleveland, Georgetown, San Marco, New Braunfels, Denton, McKinny, Arlington Muni, Grand Prairie and other Texas airports. There are other airports in the country of interest as well.
