Greetings fellow listers!

Does anyone have any info on the new digital systems going into Deaconess and Mercy? A friend on the inside says the new systems are going online soon and I would like to have the same system out here at GPRMC.

thanks

Is this for patient reporting? If so, I think they are already using them on the state 800 system. They are digital and encyrpted. I bet each hospital has their own talkgroup - I just haven't been going to the ERs to see which ENC talkgroup corresponds to the hospital.

Maybe you're talking about security??

Or you could be right on both..

Yes I think so. John with One link is coming here on Friday to show one off. I'm hoping we will have our own city wide repeater soon.

Jim,
Are you asking what the frequencies are? I remember seeing a few new licenses that were going to be issued for Deaconess and Mercy. I'm sure I could find them if that's what you are looking for?

You all may be speaking about all the new 800 radios in all hospitals. The are currently being used only for patient reports from EMSA. EMSA's new radio system is linked to every local hospital. I also know that the nurses taking reports hate them. And they probably will till they get the hang of it. I understand there are still a few kinks they are trying to work out. i"m not sure about what freq's they are on. they still use cells to call on if no one will answer the 800. Some nurses just refuse to. Anyway, maybe that gave you a little info on what I was thinking you were asking about.

Just to clarify, those radios are in MOST (but not ALL) hospitals in the METRO areas. They certainly aren't in any hospitals found outside of the OKC and Tulsa metro area.

We won't even go into how the HEAR system has been in place for many years and how this has been a joke of an improvement, etc, etc...

We will be probably the first 800 user out here in far western OK. HIPPA rules apply to all our radio traffic, and we get a lot of Texas EMS here. They do not use 155.340.

We will be moving our tower and adding about another 50-100'. We need talkgroup type comm's with our staff for NIMS, and routine departmental traffic now on 154.515. I have 1 year to design the system...

Ground breaking is on May 11th!
