Deadly accident at Weld County Roads 49 & 40

Just before 5:30 PM there was a deadly two car accident at Weld County Roads 49 & 40 SW of Kersey. At least one person died who had to be extracted. Another person was close to death with agonal breathing and expected to be transported by helicopter. Two young children were also involved and transported to an area hospital.

Yes, very sad. Apparently, this was a head on collision as the call stated one car exploded.

The local news is stating an off duty police officer was killed in the accident. A 36 year old mother is in the hospital.
