Decoding without P25 scanner/radio

I know this is going to come across as a silly question, but can I use a non P25 radio such as a GM300 with flat audio out tuned to a UHF P25 control channel on Unitrunker? Thanks in advance for any help.

Not a silly question at all and yes you can. It should work fine. It will probably work better than a modified scanner due to the better receiver.
