What scanner are you using? De Kalb is digital P-25, not analog trunking, or conventional. I believe that tone outs are only programmable in conventional mode for the Uniden scanners.

I work for a volunteer EMS service and am trying to get our Motorola portable radios to alert when a certain Dekalb station gets toned out. I am completely new at this, and didn't know if this is something we could do, or if we would have to ask Dekalb to do it for us. Presently, we have to listen to every dispatch in the county. On scene, I've heard the encoder on Dekalb radios, just not quite sure how to make that start happening on our radios. Any help you might be able to give would be greatly appreciated!

I think they are like other P25 Counties and they are done via MOSCAD.
