Denver Area Federal Frequencies

I've just moved to the Denver area, and would like to help out with frequency contributions. I've noticed the listings for Denver federal frequencies are pretty much non-extant.

After spending a while scanning the federal bands, here's what I found (in no particular order):

163.125 analog-alarms for Mesa Lab and Center Green Lab in Boulder

167.4625 P25-talk of bank robbery, possibly FBI?

170.75 P25-appears to be a security patrol, talk of walk-around and mentioned ops at Curtis and 19th streets in Denver

139.025, 141.075 pl 151.4, 148.50, 148.90, 142.90, 143.275--all analog--Used by Rocky Mountain Arsenal operations 148.90 is Fish and Wildlife Rangers

166.275-US Mint- dispatch in analog, mobiles in P25

166.5875-analog- talk of certain airliners, also had OTAR bursts

406.1375, 408.1375 DCS 223-ops sounded like other postal sorting facilities I've monitored

167.925- P25-Western Power Administration-Operations in Horsetooth Mountain area, checking transmission lines

172.900-P25---TSA at Denver International Airport

168.725, 168.125-analog-USFS Pike Forest

169.875, 169.175-analog-USFS Roosevelt/Arapaho Forests

166.35 pl 110.9 Rocky Mountain National Park

168.65, 168.500- analog USFS Helicopter dispatch-heard choppers flying from Fort Collins to Arizona and Utah

170.6625, 170.100, 170.900-P25-mostly data bursts but scant voice traffic, could not ID

That's all I've got for now.

Thanks for the list. I better print it before some admin. closes or deletes it. As I've said many times, if a government agency does not want you to monitor something, you will never monitor it! I have some questions on your list, suggestions, and additions. I'll send you a PM if I can remember how.

Might I also suggest adding the Range 138-144 and 148-150.8 Mhz

Do you have the NAC codes for the P25 ones?
Here are few of my unknowns.

413.675 / NAC 340 / Pretty sure it's Buckley but not listed in database.

167.4625 / NAC 167 / on your list

165.2875 / NAC 650 / ???

170.750 / NAC 293 / on your list

171.4375 / ???

163.325 / ???

I was listening to the 406.1375 that is the GMF(Postal Service) maintance workers, you will hear them working on LSM-Letter sorting Machincs and also like Flat sorters..The janitors have radios too. Also to note that the Inspection Service is using the Nextel radios.

Did put in the 167.4625 in and did hear one side being ENC and the dispatcher not..

Got a P25 hit on 408.77500 some in analog and some ENC.

I got the 408.1375 with a DC:351.
I think DC= Direct Connect and noticed yours was different.
It did sound Postal.
I just now got your DC:223 with the 406.1375.

How many times do I have to repeat this....

Get it right guys this is a Federal Trunked Radio System NOT a DOD (Buckley) trunked radio system. GSA, V.A. Hospital, Various non military federal agencies are on here along with BKF.

Scanner Frequencies: Denver Area Federal / Military Trunking System, Aurora, Colorado

Note that site 4 in Boulder has been off the air for at least 3 months.

FWIW if I've heard right Buckley may be setting up their own system independent of the Fed system they are currenlty on.

Also the search function truly IS your friend:

138 - 144 (FM Land Mobile AM Aircraft), 148 - 150.775, 162 - 174, 380 - 420 MHz FM for land mobile (12.5 KHz steps)

225 - 380 Aircraft and Satellite.

The title of the datbase entry says it all:
Federal / Military. I didn't see D.O.D. mentioned in the thread.
I simply refer (as others) to it as the Buckley system.

GSA runs it. Buckley is just a user of the system. It would be like calling DTRS the Greeley system up here or the Fort Morgan system in Fort Morgan.

Besides who really needs accuracy right?

I thought ICE administered the system now along with the MegaCenter. ICE was trying to hire a System Admin last month who I believe will work for the MegaCenter manager. There should be 4 techs who work for the System Admin.

Could someone post or PM me some P25 100MHz freqs with info on them. I didn't know that there were and freqs lower than 800MHz on the P25 system. I would like to further explore. Thanks.

Search 162-174 MHz 12.5KHz steps for starters. If you have a uniden model scanner using search and store is quite handy. Other ranges to explore include 138-144, 148-150.775, 380-420 MHz.

P25 is not exclusive to 800 MHz.
