All the NOAA Boulder/Denver All hazards (Weather) radio stations have a slight problem with "Voice Text TTS".

It appears this is a nationwide issue with the software for text to speech used on the NOAA broadcasts.

I wouldn't be surprised if they also have it running on a Windows XP machine with messages popping up about their copy of Windows not being genuine ha ha

Last week when they toned out their weekly Wednesday test, the automated announcement said 'This NOAA transmitter is out of service', etc. About 30 minutes later they figured out their error and aired the expected test. I kept wondering how a transmitter that is out of service was transmitting that information. I should call them on my phone the next time my phone is out of service.

They frequently seem to have trouble figuring out how to make the test procedure work. Doesn't inspire confidence in their abilities. ;)
