If anyone can monitor this system, it appears that they have switched or are in the process of completing the switch to the P25 system.

There's still activity on the ProVoice system. I asked someone(an end user) recently, and he didn't think the switch would be anytime soon. Some activity is patched to the P25 system, so both P25 and ProVoice are in use.

When the Phase II system first came online, some of the system frequencies were harvested from the ProVoice system. The airport has another set of 700MHz frequencies that, so far, I have not seen in use. There's also a license for a group of 700MHz frequencies, simplex mode, for the fire training center. So far, I have not been near enough to hear any of those on days when active fire training is occurring. Those would be much too far away for me to hear them from home.

Like Ben, I am still hearing plenty of FD and ARFF activity on the Provoice system and the P25 system has nothing of interest for me so far. I work fairly close to the Training Facility, But, although I have plenty, I rarely even carry a handheld with me. One day I will remember, and I'll try to mosey that way and see if those training freqs. are in use.
