Was wondering if anyone has used this antenna on thier handheld scanner. If so was it any good? I was wondering if it would give me better reception in the 482 to 512 frequencies. Or do you guys have any suggestions on what to use to improve reception.

have you searched about it? this is most talked about antenna on here!!! Of course its GOOD!!!!! I have one and it even often smokes my portable base station setups at the park. Or at least it works as good as a base antenna 10-15 off the ground, at least with my body action as a ground plane. at VHF hi it's good and at UHF its Great!!!

It does rock I've got it about 7ft up on a mini mag mount in my house, and it blows away any other inside set up that I've tried.

I've been using them for years, for my scanners and my dual-band Ham HTs, and I'm completely satisfied with them. I'll occasionally use my outside antenna when I'm at home (as well as an external antenna when mobile), but more often than not I just use the RH77 as is.

I hadn't thought of that, but maybe I'll give it a shot.

You also can't beat that kinda quality for the price. Universal Radio has them for something like $21.

Heck of a good antenna, I use mine with a suction cup window mount, exceptional job on VHF........
