When I left Dickinson in July 2012 the PD was P25 digital and in the clear but I note that RR is now listing the PD as encrypted and the RR feed from Dickinson has been dropped.

When I arrived in Dickinson in 1984 is was full time encoded using analog Motorola Voice Protection but slowly over the years it became more and more unreliable and they finally switched more and more to broadcasting in the clear until all broadcasts where in the open. Of course they started using their cell phones when needed.

Anyone know the present status of the Dickinson PD?

When I was in Dickinson mid-July this year, the PD was full time encrypted. They started that just before I left town in October of 2012.

Thanks for the information!

I guess I could have been recording the Dix PD when I got home in July 2012 Via RR, at least for a few months, but I was really busy with a permanent move of residency.

I do have about two months of recording that I made before I left that I have not listened to as I was too busy packing and making arrangements for the move. I normally listened to the recordings walking to work, walking home at noon to eat and back to work etc.

I did get to listen to the last week of traffic thru my car sound system during the four day drive to where I am now. The recordings are time compressed to only 1 second between calls.

I have been lucky (at least until now) that all the places I have lived I can listen to via RR.

Thanks again for the update.
