So, I was just programming in some marine channels using the stock config file in chirp(next). When the file opened, I noticed that there was a gap in channels (the naming).

I just figured I had made a mistake or had overridden the original file by accident. I download chirp(next0 again and the file is just like that.

I opened some old files to see if all my past file were like this too. They were not.

So I d/l an old ver of chirp and took a look at the stock marine file again and it seems like its more inline to what I was expecting.

Then comparing the 2 side by side its clear something has changed with something somewhere. :)
Anyone know whats up with this?
Thanks!!!

I can't tell by the screen shots what is different. The top one doesn't even show all the columns.
Don't count on CHIRP stock configs to be accurate.

If you look at the channel names compared to their freq you'll see a difference. ch.1 on the new file is 156.0500 while the older ver was ch.1 160.6500mhz. Also, the newer one there is no ch. 2,3 or 4.

Just wondering why there is such a change in files.

There is no channel 2, 3, 4, or 5 in the US band plan. Maybe CHIRP had international and Canadian channels but changed it. Who knows where their information came from.
Got it. It seems the new file is the correct info. Thanks!
