Digital Trunking in Greensboro

I'm new to digital trunking. I've programed a 296D and everything works good. I'm seeing the talkgroup Id's but I'm not receiving the digital signals for the talkgroups in the Greensboro police. It stops on the control channel and scans or I will see the talkgroup ID but hear the loud robotic noise. I'm not receiving enc on display so my question is - is the Greensboro signals encrypted or I'm I still missing something in the way I've set things up. I'm using Motorola II 800mhz and plan 2 with the other items all on.

Would appreciate help from someone who knows the 296D. Thanks

I'm not familiar with the 296, however, i do know that GPD DOES NOT encrypt their radio traffic. The system uses a 3600 Baud Control Channel, and unless you aren't receiving a clear signal, the scanner should be decoding the digital signals.

You're right. I figured problem out and now have all the talkgroups
listed in database programmed, whew! Really enjoying. Thanks.
