Sorry if I am beating a dead horse, I have been following Disney comms since the early 2000’s. WDC was on Nextel- then Trbo, now they are back on PTT FirstNet type devices? I don’t see anyone carrying Trbo radios anymore. Do they still use Trbo at all?

Using PTToC devices now for 99% of their comms. Looks to be a Sonim XP5s.

Didn't see any sign of TRBO radios anywhere.

I remember the old systems. And now most all the communications on the county system are ENC. But I’d imagine there could be other types of commas used there that are not on this system? Perhaps?

I was at Disney World a few weeks ago I was hearing some Transmissons on 461.300 162.2 Parade Ops and 463.750 162.2 Sky show but they were digital I didn't get the DMR CC AND TGID and slot because my radios promiscuous mode was having issues

Damn, imagine the trade in value of those thousands of XPR7550’s, and mobiles
I’m local to Disneyland CA and have small children so I’m there….[sigh]…a lot. They still appear to be heavily TRBO based with the exception of the parade details wearing a Riedel Bolero belt pack AND a TRBO HT. Too bad they’re 7580e’s. If/when they migrate to cellular, would have been awesome to pick up a bunch of 7550e’s at a bargain.

Anaheim and Hawaii are the exception to the rule. After TWDC ended the TRBO contract / services agreement, those two properties entered a new one and are a on a Capacity Max Tier-III MOTOTRBO solution.

In the busses they have replaced the Trbo mobiles with this contraption in the above photo . It is a GPS/route tracker that appears to also update their message boards. I don’t know what the phone function does

I believe when the contract ended that a small number of subscribers were purchased out right and are being used in Conventional DMR mode by specific operational groups like parades..

I used to work at the location where some of those mobiles and portables were being stored as the system was transitioning. The radios were well guarded and it was A LOT of radios. The handhelds were mostly SL7550 units.

The old school phone is odd.

The phone is attached to their PTToC system as well. The GPS/Route Tracker was also available on TRBO. It updated their message boards and played canned music/voice at particular points in their journey.

looks like the unit is made by this company. Brilliant idea- combining everything from CAD, to comms, to message board updates, and on and on
