Dixon Fire will be changing dispatch frequencies beginning June 15, 2011. This will be done due to coverage issues with the current Dixon Fire channel and the future narrow banding issues that we are faced with. Also, our repeater system is outdated and in need of upgrades. We will be dispatched on Solano Fire 1 starting on June 15th. For now, we will not be taking the Dixon Fire channel out of our radios. We may elect to use it as a backup command channel. So I would not recommend deleting it just yet out of your systems.

Didn't know there was a release that went out about it, but I can confirm the validity of it. Additionally, just for info, Dixon PD is dispatched on Solano SO 1.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3GS: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5)

So they aren't using the old freq at all?

Well on the fire end, yes Dixon Fire on 154.145 is still active until next week as the primary dispatch channel. After June 15th, Dixon Fire will be dispatched on Solano Fire 1 156.000. There are currently several talks going on with the various Solano county agencies regarding the direction of the radio plan. The Dixon Fire channel will be kept in the radio plan, but it's use going forward is still to be determined. Again, I'm not sure what has gone public yet, but do anticipate changes in the radio plan as a whole.

As far as the PD end of it, I'm not sure if they use the 154.830 as I've never heard anything on there. They are dispatched on Solano SO 1 155.490. The listing for Dixon PD 2 is used I believe by the local transit service Redi Ride (although I am not 100% sure) and carries no law enforcement function at all.

I will submit more information as I discover it and/or it goes public as far as the fire radio plan goes.
