I recently went to get an ID from the dmr Marc website and was sent to the radioid.net site. Upon getting my ID I was given a 313xxxx ID. When I look through the database, Noone else has a number that high and I didn't see my ID there. Did I not do something right?

Got my ID a couple of weeks ago and it starts with 316XXXXX. I read where sometimes it takes a bit to get in the database. Have you tried to transmit with your radio to see if your id comes up?

The short story is the numbering system can no longer follow the state numbering convention due to the number of requests for IDs. No worries. Have fun.

I see that now. Thanks for the replies. As far as having fun, that'll be a different thread. Now I have to wrap my head around this whole dmr deal and how to use it lol. The only repeater I think I can get too in my immediate area is a dmr plus. I've tried to read up on that, and even tried to key up the local tg to see if anyone would answer with some pointers. I see the repeater is rx me, but I didn't get anything back. I tried the parrot tg, but that was a no go too. I know I'm doing something wrong, just have to read up and try different stuff.

If you are new to DMR I strongly encourage you to put Amateur radio notes by KE0FHS on your reading list. In my opinion it is probably the best resource to DMR and all things digital.

BTW, a hotspot will open the DMR world to you, much more so than most local repeaters. KE0FHS includes information on his website.

HTH.
