Make sure the Service Type assigned is enabled. It defaults to Custom 1.

Also make sure DOWNLOAD and MONITOR are set to ON for your FL and that any assigned Quick Keys are enabled.

The above represents about 90% of the issues people have (maybe more).

What does the "Download" do?

Here is what I have so far. I have found that when I set "DMR" and "Search" in ARC536, whenever I exit out from that FL then go back, the program has reset it to P25 in place of the DMR. Nor sure why it's doing this but anyway...now I can pick up Blanchard PD and it shows the color code and slot on the screen. But for some reason, it's still not picking up Newcastle, even though an occasional color code pops up on the screen while they are transmitting but I hear no audio. I have a RS scanner also tuned in to the same freq so I know when they are on.

Right here...
I have mine set up for a local site on a IP site connected repeater and I am decoding audio and it is showing me the talk groups, unit Id's, and time slot but not the color code in use, but in Sentinel it shows I have it set for color code search.

In the instruction from uniden on programming Motortrbo systems, I says to put in a "placeholder" if you don't know what the LCN is. What's the placeholder they speak of?

Thanks, UPMan. Now, I live in the OKC area and am trying to figure out a particular Mototrbo system. It's in McClain County, City of Newcastle. They have police and fire on this system but only one channel has a TG, CC and Slot listed. I have tried to figure out how to setup to receive this with no luck. I know they're xmtg on 152.18 because I can here the "noise" on another scanner.

Knowing nothing about this system, how would I set up a discovery session to gather info. I can assume that because it has a TG, etc. listed, it's a Mototrbo system, right? Or is this something left to folks running software on a computer.

Oh yea, to compound the situation, DigitalFrequencySearch does not list Newcastle and when I do a license search on ULS for WPQC998, none of the freqs have the proper emission code for DMR.

For whatever reason, I am now receiving the elusive Newcastle PD. It's nighttime right now, I wonder if during the day the signal strength is to low for the scanner to decipher the DMR. I have it programmed as a conventional with DMR selected and Squelch Code (color code) 4. I do know that it is a Mototrbo system so I'm not sure why I'm receiving it. I also have it programmed as that but I'm still not receiving anything on it. I have no idea what the LCN's are, or even what frequencies are part of the system. I have programmed the fire dept freq with an assumed CC of 4; we'll see what happens.
