Hello All, is there a type of DMR that cannot be heard on a scanner radio? Yes, I have a DMR capable radio. Thanks.

Yeah, but it's our gas company. (Arkansas Oklahoma Gas) I have every reason to believe they're using DMR, and I've seen many frequencies alleged to be used by them, but I hear nothing.

Not sure what scanner you have, but is cc and slot set to all? Is TGs set to any? Are you monitoring the Control Channel with correct LCNs listed on the frequencies? Are you sure they are using voice and not data? And finally, are you sure it's not actually this EDACS system?

Thanks for your response. The EDACS stuff died many years ago and P25 took over. However, the gas company was/is not on either. I monitor frequencies alleged to be used by them, in conventional mode, hoping to hear something. If I can just hear them I can go from there and try to determine trunking info. So far they have been elusive.

According to ther licenses WQAL436 and WQEK653 they are on a trunk system. When clicking on the license reference copy the emission designators show analog only. It’s possible they’re still LTR, EDACS, or another form of analog trunking.
