271.0 is a common frequency, used down here in Texas during TFRs around the Texas White House. "Bigfoot" is Air Force controllers at McCord AFB (Northeast Air Defense Sector), "Oakgrove" is Tindall AFB (Southeast Air Defense Sector). I've heard both here in Dallas, apparently they have remote transmitter sites all over. "Omaha" is a generic federal aircraft callsign but mostly used by Customs Border Patrol. F-16s will be doing the initial intercepts and pop flares, then if they fail to comply, most likely Customs Air will lauch a helo (Blackhawk) to follow the airplane to an airfield and have a chat with the violator. Violate a presidential/election TFR, and they get your "N" number, you can pretty much be guaranteed a 90 to 180-day suspension.

Have been listening to these the past few days and have not really heard much. Is there anything else I should be looking for as far as the birds over Denver past few days?

Here are some AM frequencies that may be used for the temporary flight restriction around the DNC, which is code named PEPSI CAP.

121.500 - civilian guard
126.2 - which has been used by Hueys and UH-60's doing some comm checks and testing video feeds.
138.850 - air to air
138.950 - air to air
139.300 - air to air
142.600 - air to air
243.000 - military guard
271.000 - Combat Air Patrol (AWACS controller call sign BIGFOOT or DRAGNET directing fighter pilot to target)
282.600 - air to air
299.600 - Combat Air Patrol
349.2 - posted in another thread as being used

All the Denver center frequencies for the Denver area are listed here: http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?aid=2238. The pilots flying CAP usually coordinate with the responsible center on a UHF frequency.

Anyone have confirmed air refueling frequencies for Colorado?

I haven't had a lot of listening time but I've heard the DAGGER airplanes having some eqpt issues.

These are the C-26 Metroliners operated by < SS?> landing at Ft. Collins/Loveland.

First time I heard a stuck altimeter issue. Last night I heard one with some problem I didn't quite catch go back to FNL. He passed over my head on final approach as I was driving north

Right now 126.2 is active watching vehicle traffic "Ahead of the motorcycles".
You'll only hear one side (airborne side) of the comms on 271.0. Not sure where the ground portion is broadcast from for the Denver area. I assume it's similar to the FSS, where there are a bunch of remote antenna groups (RAGs) that feed to a central point where the controller would be? That way there is a common frequency for them to call up if needed and there is no pulling out the charts to figure out what freq to call them on. Is this anywhere near accurate?
I'll keep the sweeper looking for new hits on the milair ranges today.

Yes, only rarely do I ever hear Bigfoot. The other day the Stud's were testing radar coverage and comm checks with bigfoot, and I could only barely hear them depending on what transmitter they were using.

I have heard BIGFOOT and DRAGNET talking to Denver Center on 379.950 and 354.100 to coordinate missions, let Denver Ctr know the fighters are RTB, and request a heading off the Lamar VOR trying to calibrate their radar system. I do hear them talking air to air with the fighters during sorties in the South and Southeastern parts of Colorado on 271.000. I will try to record some of the transmissions and post them.

What I am trying to understand is how the different law enforcement and secret service teams get notified in realtime of a TFR violation or air intercept mission? There has to be some common communication method between all the different agencies. Anyone know for sure?
