I never seem to hear any comms betweent or to and from patrol boats to HQ.... I have all the DNR and Parks and Forestry programmed in my scanner. What freqs do they use, possibly marine radio channels?

Also, does anyone have a resource for there beats and stations around the Chesapeake Bay and OC?

BTW I live in Annapolis.

I frequently hear the Natural Resources Police on 39.220 talking to and from either "Tawes" or "waldorf" down here in the lower Chesapeake Bay area near Pt. Lookout. I also hear them on the Leonardtown MSP Channel of 39.380. They also talk on the various marine channels.

Rpoole is correct they use 39.220 but they also use 151.205 as well. I have heard the boats calling Tawes on 39.220 (a reminder 39.220 is simplex only & you may not hear these comms all the time).

That is true. I think they have a transmitter down here at Point Lookout b/c they come in real clear, plus they sometimes will say which tower they need to use to communicate with the officers in the field. Sometimes you will hear the officer telling the dispatcher to switch to another tower site. I know they have another one at their Waldorf office just off Rt 301.
But as stated it is simplex and sometimes can be a pain, I have responded more than once to assist a NRP officer when he needed help and no one could get a hold of him via his radio. We use 800mhz and for some reason failed to implement a TG for the Park Rangers and the NRP officers at Point Lookout.

Not to flame anyone here, but he's quite right; Fordyce's site is chock full of old and inaccurate stuff. I use that site ONLY as a last resort, even before going to the FCC site. Stick with what you find here, you'll be much better off.

Just a note. I heard alot of acitivity involving DNR boats tonight on 151.205 during the open water rescue. The boats where coming in loud and clear, but the dispatcher was VERY fuzzy. Hope this helps.
