If you live in Arizona, you probably do not want to do this.

There is a State criminal statute for 'Interference with or disruption of an educational institution'. Postponement of any class, no matter how slight, can get one arrested.

Some of the lower division classes with large numbers of students use a voting system for in-class feedback. Students register these devices and then respond to professor questions. Computers tally attendance, grades of in-class assignments, and levels of engagement among other things.

This is a version of a device:

Someone repeatedly tampered with the system at a State university, the professor noticed, and the University PD discovered who it was through video surveillance. The student was subsequently given a failing grade, ejected from the class, and suspended for a year from the university - as well as being criminally charged.

I'm an IT guy for a school district. Our projection systems have remote controls = IR. That's all the info I know, can't & won't get into a rabbit hole of "will this work?" questions. Don't ask me to research, I work during the summer and have enough on my plate. No idea who you are & your intentions nor if it will work with your app but I claim no responsibility if something goes wrong. I'm out
