The Dobbs Ferry PD changed their radios and now I can't hear anything on their existing frequency. Does anyone have any information on how to find them now?
Sam frequency, different transmission... new frequency?

What do you mean they changed their radios?
When was the last time you were able to hear them?

Looks like they purchased UHF radios, so they should still be operating in that band. Check all three of their licensed frequencies for activity, and don't assume that they're still using the same NAC as listed in the RRDB, they could've changed.

Per the documents above, they did not buy ADP encryption. So they remain in the clear for you to continue monitoring.

Actually, the exact opposite. The quotes from MSI clearly show the ADP Only option for the 4000, 4500, and 8000.

Doesn't necessarily mean they've encrypted their channel, but the option to do so is certainly there, assuming they followed through with the purchasing as quoted.

been logging all day, no hits on those 3 freqs. "search" set for NAC. So maybe "e"?

I would've expected to see at least a blip or two even if encrypted. I guess it depends on what hardware/software you're logging with.

Proscan... bcd536hp. close by. A few very weak hits on 460.475, (analog I think, prob Newark (c123.0) and Westhampton (d331). Nothing close and nothing on the the 482 mhz freqs. If Enc, I don't think I hear anything on that scanner, correct?

I believe Uniden ignores encryption if you're actually scanning the frequency normally, however if you force it to scan those frequencies as Analog audio type (not All or Digital), it should let anything through. Perhaps you could do that and enable attenuation on them so that you'd only pick up anything strong/nearby.

Interesting mystery. I see nothing in any of their recent village minutes to indicate that they would've gone to another system like MRRS. Looks like that resolution to purchase the UHF APX radios passed last year, and another resolution over the summer to renew the maintenance contract with Goosetown.

Since the summer, I am still scanning the three frequencies, and twice I heard in the clear "Dobbs Ferry" in a brief statement, more like a quick ID statement...but no actual PD traffic. That was set as a conventional configuration. The officer who I spoke to admitted to being non-technical and he said the new setup was more like cell phones than radios.....

I tried monitoring all 3 freqs as analog only.. on hold.. looking for digital noise and maybe an "enc" flag, but aside from Newark on 460.475 analog, I get nothing.

They were trialing on MRRS system for past couple weeks on talk group 9560. I'm not sure if they are full time on MRRS yet.

I have a Uniden BCD325P2.
Do I configure them as a P25? Motorola?

I've been listening (or not) for a while on MRRS talk group 9560, and have not heard anything yet this evening. We'll see... FYI, my bcd325p2 cannot receive much of anything on the MRRS system anywhere in lower Westchester (simulcast issues), but the sds 100 does ok. It mostly comes through the Metro-25 site (zone1) rather than Westchester Zone 3 (site81) below i287 for me. p25....
