I rarely hear them on the MRRS.

When did anyone confirm them to be encrypted? Someone posted a screenshot showing a proposal for new radios that includes encryption, but no one ever confirmed they were encrypted. Let's not jump the gun.

Think he is going by the proposal, and the fact he can't hear them. Not sure why he posed the db screenshot that does not mention encryption. That's a new one.

Kay. Radio reference updated back in march after someone figured it out. Radio Reference DB is based on user submissions. Since November we have been trying to figure this out. In early march someone finally submitted it probably after doing some listening.

The reason why its only affiliated some of the time is because they are suspected to use LTE to supplement RF coverage. Like mentioned in the post above and in other threads. When they do affiliate to RF it shows up as 100% clear. If they were encrypted and affiliate to RF it would show up as that. Lets not jump the gun and scream the E word.

Taking another look at my SDR Trunk and UT. I can see clear (not E) traffic from yesterday. I can confirm the audio.

From my observations it seems that all of the traffic that i recive is from units or dispatch when they are on the east side of the village, maybe rf is better there and LTE is stronger on the west side. Meaning when their radio's affiliate to LTE you wont hear them. just my observations from seeing radio IDs and listening to audio traffic.

Well, I have multiple Uniden Scanners and some RTL SDRs. But, Im using SDRs to listen to Dobbs Ferry PD. (when they actually affiliate to RF)

I was just curious if anyone was still hearing any transmissions from the rivertowns; Dobbs Ferry, Ardsley, etc... on the MRRS. There was a big police chase that shut down traffic and brought out the county aviation, on the Saw Mill last night. It seemed like a good opportunity to see what my SDR would pick up, but I got nothing. I was also curious, because those frequencies that I see in the screenshots are not what I thought were in the Westchester / MTA trunked system?

Thanks!

There are no freqs in any of the screen shots in this thread. The 4 digit numbers are talk group id and the 7 digit numbers are the radio id's. Dobbs is using LTE at times and when they use RF, they can be heard on the Metro-25/MTA MRRS system.

I think it's been established that they are not encrypted, but in case anyone was curious, ADP is a zero-cost option from Motorola, so its inclusion on a quote/PO isn't a good indicator of its use. Seeing something like AES on a quote would be a better indicator, as it's a $500+ option, so unlikely to be included "just because."

Apparatus radios (as opposed to fire chiefs/battalion officers/EMS) on the Westchester County trunking system are not encrypted, for example, but you may find some provisioned with ADP capability since there is no additional cost to include it at the time of purchase.

Radio ID numbers. Thank you, I should have realized. I had heard and seen here that there was an increasing use of the LTE network, but I was surprised with such a multi-agency response to be able to pick up so little traffic on RF. I'm still learning the SDR UIs, so I apologize for any sophomoric questions.

So the Uniden sds100 or sds200 is the best shot at MRRS in the river towns area? Would anyone know if one receives the traffic better than the orther?

They receive the same. Sds100 is handheld, the 200 is base (or auto). Otherwise, same.
