For those of you who don't know what IPN is:

http://www.incidentpage.net/

When they send pages, they usually include what frequency or trunking system they heard the incident on. Lately, they've paged out on a couple of incidents and in the page they indicated the radio system was "FHP digital." How would an IPN dispatcher be able to listen to ProVoice ESK encryption?

It was FL005 who sent the page. Does anyone know who that is? How did they get to be all on the inside?

No, we don't have access to pro voice. FLA005, myself and other dispatchers in the South Florida area can monitor the APCO-25 Motorola system which is still in use. Anyone with a digital scanner can listen to FHP in all of Broward, Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties. I don't understand why they would, seeing as 95% of the time all you hear is traffic stops, and minor MVAs.

I have been a member of IPN for years, I also know a few of the mangers of the site as well as being a firefighter/EMT and worked for Polk Co SO for a few years, maybe I can give you some insight. When someone pages a call that states "FHP Digital" it means that the FHP troop in that area is on the ProVoice System and they saw the call on the CAD for FHP. FHP dispatchers try to display as much detailed info for the public. Since the State of Florida is a "Public Information" State for most government activities. FHP must meet the "Sunshine Act" by displaying a website for public access since thier radio transmissions can not be monitored by the public. Here is the site, click on your troops region to see the active calls in your area. http://www.fhp.state.fl.us/traffic/ Hope this answered your question.
