I saw a trailer this weekend at the MSP crime lab and at first glance it sure looked like a large telescoping tower on it. I figured getting ready for the Ford funeral. Any ideas? Thanks

Yes. The MSP does have a mobile trunking site, which can be deployed anywhere around the state. What you saw, was probably in all likelihood the MTRS, or a specialized communications command post. With the events planned for President Ford's ceremony in Grand Rapids, its a safe bet that there will be a buzz of radio activity on the MPSCS and federal radio systems.

They have mobile repeaters in the following vehicle. There is another one but I can't find the pic of it.

Yes the one I saw was very small about the size of a 4x8 ft box trailer. That had a tower with antennas. I will try and get a pic today.

If you can ever get the control freq, that would be great, even tho I am sure they can change it and who knows how many of these Michigan has

Trunked systems do not use just one freq. Sounds like two things might be being discussed here...
