New findings:
Da Kine Bail Bonds is the name of the company he runs and there are 1,063 Chapmans listed in the ULS database under various radio services. My best idea is to sit in the neighborhood around where Da Kine offices are and discreetly monitor for their voices. It can't be that hard because these people have VERY distinct voices...I haven't been watching the show that long and I can tell Duane's voice anywhere or Beth's, or any other of his staffers.
Don't be afraid to follow them on a surveillance either to find out if you want it bad enough because they are not the police and they are not emergency personnel of any sort, so that rule can take a hike. I can tell you for sure that they are using simplex versus a trunked system just by watching the operation of the radios and the sound of the system. Trunked systems have a distinct sound to them as do LTR systems. I don't hear any beeps, don't hear any of the higher quality audio on the radios that is usually present on these types of systems. I don't see any other characteristic of a big system.
It's definitely simplex between 450 and 490. Try more specifically between 461 even and 469.9875. Likely it'll be a 12.5Khz step, just a nagging suspicion. They're not running more than 5 watts out of those radios for sure and not less than 1 watt from what I can tell based on the distances I've watched them use their comms from.
It surely isn't anything in the 150Mhz range because it wouldn't carry that well in long distances without a nice band opening or use of a good repeater system. Anyone for database hunting? Here's alink to Bobby Brown's business (Dog's good friend)

Bobby Brown even does Colorado Bail Enforcement Certification classes! (Is there such a thing?) I know illinois and Kentucky are absolutely against bail enforcement agenst because of the low level of training they have versus the specialized training the REAL police have.
Another idea to detect these guys would be to find out if Da Kine is owned by another company that just leaves Duane in charge of that specific portion of the company. Bail bonds is an expensive business, so someone has to be underwriting him. If anyone finds anything, please consider being kind enough to stream the real time audio on-line.
