In case there was any lingering doubt about Starsoft:

Yesterday I opened my trial version of Win97, which had expired, and clicked on the buy now button. This took me to a website where I filled out all the details and my credit card info. After making the final click, a few seconds later a screen came up with my passcode. Total time from first click on the expired demo version to opening the paid for Win97 was less than 5 minutes.

I only wish I could cut and paste my freq lists as quickly as that.

Thanks for the backup folks. I think Starr and Gommert at Butel have both done the scanning world a HUGE service with their software development. I sure as heck couldn't do it, and I'd have arthritis and carpel tunnel from programming by hand!

I'd like to wish them both all the best success for the New Year.

With Web Import, why use cut/paste?

One of the problems with conventional import is the way the database is set up. Often times you will get channel tags that read "Police" of "Fire" with no tag as to agency/town. The only way around this is to import just individual agencies/towns requring repeated downloads into seperate banks and tagging the bank with the town/agency name. If you cosolidate the banks you have to edit the channel tags.

Yes! I'm glad someone else has noticed this issue.
It would be nice if all of the database listings were formatted with this in mind.
For those listings with "Display" data, it's no problem, but for those with only "Description" data it can be a real pain.

Agreed, it would be nice to have a Display option in conventional import. However, editing the frequency tags is still easier then using cut/paste, though if using "Paste Special>Text" in Excel, editing is very easy for copy/paste and you can save the file for easy edit/update later. Also, ID grouping for trunked systems is reasonably easy using this Excel feature.
