DPS Air Rescue primarily operates off of DPS's own district frequencies. When assisting other agencies, they will switch to that agency's frequency or use mutual aid frequencies, which range from national 800, UHF, VHF, or 154.280, the statewide fire mutual channel.

They used to have their own dedicated treq, below 460, maybe 453.xxx as I recall.

That's what I'm looking for,

Ranger has never had a dedicated frequency of its own. You might be thinking of EMSCOM (Med 5) 463.100 PL 136.5, which was an EMS/hospital coordination frequency available across most of the state; its use varied over the years and from region to region, but DPS OpComm centers had access to it. For a few decades Ranger helicopters were frequent users of that old repeater system, given the nature of many of their missions, and they would sometimes contact OpComm on it as an alternative to district frequencies, but it was by no means dedicated to them.

You are probably thinking of when they operated mostly on DPS State unless they were involved in LE support for one of the districts. I'm not sure if they even use State anymore and with them moving to AZWins there isn't such a thing.
