For those near Dorothea Dix Park in downtown Raleigh, Dreamville 2023 is happening this weekend with over 100,000 people expected to attend. Local news agencies are predicting rain and heavy winds on Saturday morning, which could impact the beginning of the two day festival.
They appear to be using four simplex trunked DMR frequencies, I have not been able to find any license for them. The frequencies are 464.4875, 464.5125, 464.5375 and 464.5625, with color codes 1-4 being used on lowest to highest frequencies, all on slot 1. Talkgroups heard during setup range from 103 to 135, with 255 being an All Call TG. Among the more interesting is 103 - Event Organizers, 107 - Power, 112 - Security Dispatch, 115 - Medical, 124 - Site Ops, 128 - IT/WIFI, 131 - Video Production, 134 - Stage 2 Production and 135 - Stage 1 Production. I'm sure there will be lots more talkgroups, and possibly addition of Slot 2, starting Saturday. The actual show is scheduled to run from noon to 11pm both Saturday and Sunday.
Also, look for increased traffic by multiple law enforcement and medical agencies on both the Wake Co event talkgroups and VIPER statewide event talkgroups.
