Plug in the cable, go to device manager and then com ports. One should have a message about the cable. Right click on that message and tell the computer to search for a new driver and it should find and install the correct one. I have a new computer and just installed my ARC500 software and had the same situation.

Tried that it couldn't find one on the computer or online at Microsoft. Contacted both BueTel and Radioshack and they replied that they had no drivers. I looked for the original disk but have been unable to find it

Addition: The Device Manager does show the cable

HOW is the cable shown in the Device Manager? Does it show the cable with a COMPORT number assigned to it... or does it show an error for the cable? If it shows a COMPORT number, it already has the correct driver.

Looking for Driver for a Radioshack USB Scanner/PC Interface Cable Cat No 20-047. Running a Radioshack Pro 162 Scannner

Try the driver at this link on the Scanner Master page. It's the "Radio Shack USB Cable Driver" down at the bottom of the left column on that page.
