WS1080: Driver version & date

What is the latest driver version and date for the WS1080? I am running Windows 10 Pro 64bit.

Below is what I show for the com port in Device manager.
Whistler WS1080 Serial Device (COM3)
Driver Provider:Whistler
Driver Date:11/15/2007
Driver Version:5.1.2600.0
Digital Signer:Not digitally signed

Below is what I show under disk drives in Device Manager.
Whistler WS1080 MSD USB Device
Driver Provider:Microsoft
Driver Date:6/21/2006
Driver Version:10.0.10586.0
Digital Signer:Microsoft Windows

I did download the latest 64 bit driver from the Whistler site.
I had a hard time getting the computer to communicate with the scanner, but finally it did connect and updated everything.
Shouldn't the drivers be the same?

It sounds like you went to Whistler's FAQ scanner page and clicked on the first Question. That info is for the 1040/1065 model PC cable. it does nothing for the 1080/88/95/98 models. For those models its the second question that calls out these model specifically.

I am running Windows 10 Home 64-bit with the Radio Shack PRO-668 scanner (different flavor of the Whistler WS1080). I checked both of my drivers in device manager and everything is EXACTLY as you posted except the driver provider is "Radio Shack" (instead of "Whistler") for the com port.

I had to manually install the PRO-668 INF file in Windows 10 to be able to communicate with the scanner. Since then everything has been working fine.
