SDS100/SDS200: SDS200 and Win 7 x64; are there any issues seeing the Scanner with Sentinel?

After reading thru some other threads, I have these questions;

1. The 3 USB ports; is the Micro USB port on the front the only one that works? So, what's with the other 2 ports and where in the owners manual is this mentioned??
2. Just what/where in Device Manager will the SDS200 show up? The 996)2 shows up under a Comm Port.
3. Per the last question; is the Micro SD Card the only listing in DM under 'Disk Drives" that will be listed?
4. Unlike the 996P2, the user doesn't have any operational control of the 200, it's just for the memory card programming?
5. Is there some issue running Win 7 x64 (which is what I prefer using)?? Are some other M$ programs/KB, drivers, etc needed?
6. This "Mass Storage Mode" where in the manual is this mentioned?
7. Will/Can ProScan work with less or no issues?
8. If the above doesn't have the answer, can the card be removed and loaded in the PC and interface there instead?

Front Micro Usb is for programming (mass storage) and serial connection.
Front Usb A port only provides power to usb devices.
Front LAN port is for third party connectivity.

Rear Micro Usb port works with third party software. (Bandscope)
Rear RJ-45 port is used for gps module

Port descriptions are extremely vague in the manual.

Scanner related, yes, as long as your in mass storage mode. Printer (s) hard drives and usb sticks connected to PC will be in there also.

Anything that can be done in the software can be done on the scanner itself, other than firmware updates.

No issues other than the OS EOL was 5 years ago and the OS is vulnerable to security risks like viruses and malware if connected to the web.

Yes. (Depending on ones technical know-how)

Yes, as long as one has the means to connect a Micro Sd card to the PC.

Ok, I found the secret, I did see the deal in the Sentinel manual.. Info overload. But, nothing in the radios owners manual.
I was expecting what most other radios including the 996P2 operates by showing up in DM as a USB device and/or a Com Port. It wasn't there as expected.
Nothing like re-inventing the wheel.

When the scanner is in normal operation and not Mass Storage Mode, the scanner is automatically in serial port mode and the USB will show in the Device Manager in the Ports (COM & LPT) section.

Nope, it doesn't here! I check that numerous times in DM, Zero.

Are you using the supplied cable and with the front usb micro port?

Are you plugging into a hub, extension cable or directly into your pc usb port?

Does your pc make sound when plugged in and does the scanner prompt you for mass storage/serial?

Well now, out of the blue DM does show a Uniden Serial Com Port.

I believe previously I didn't have it plugged in at boot up, just after the PC was up and running.
