For the record though, I would take a new Satellit 800 over an R75...

I wouldn't take a Satellit 800 over my 700 and I would take an R75 over that in a split second. Well for the HF/SW The 700 has a very nice broadcast FM receiver.

Actually the Tecsun S2000 isn't out yet either... But from preliminary tests by industry insiders, the 750 will be a better performer than the 800..

ANyways to get back on track, I wonder is grundig will ever make a competing radio, something a little more high-end, even better than the E1, this 750 im really considering about buying for the portabilty, getting some rechagable batteries for it and could be on DX trip for up to a week at a time.

Don't they make a handle for the R75? Then the only drawback to it being portable is that darn external power supply!
