So i been monitoring a cap + system with a tapped scanner for the CC and a sdr dongle for the VC using two separate antenna's. Recently i purchased a Multicoupler to attach my HP-2 scanner to one of the antenna's so i dont have to use a third antenna so i can listen to other local non DMr traffic. I attached the Multicoupler to the tapped scanner antenna that is used for the control channels and i notice the scanner for DMR CC's now just scans and doesn't sit on the CC so it misses traffic. I guess i cant use this Multicoupler for the antenna's? Any idea's on how i can get this to work so i dont need a 3rd antenna.

Either the signal level into the scanner from that antenna was borderline to begin with, you have a cabling problem, or the multi-coupler isn't suitable for the frequency band in question. Insertion of a passive splitter should take out a few dB at most -- usually OK if you're talking about a base station within the service area of a site that is designed to serve mobiles and portables.

Some details of the antennas, cabling, multicoupler, frequencies, and locations would help.

The multi coupler is vhf/uhf. The dmr system is 800's. It didn't even dawn on me until you mentioned it. I'm sure that's the issue.
