DSDPlus DSD+ Logging Question (Feature request?)

I often leave DSD+ running for days - just sitting on a system and logging activity.

is there a way to flag talkgroups that are using encryption in the DSDPLUS.GROUPS log file?

>>> basically add an "E" to the groups data that is saved if the group is using enryption?


this would be very helpful - and if there is a setting that I need to add somewhere, please let me know.

Don't know if it would work well for groups that use partial encryption. I usually use notepad++ and search for 'enc' which brings up which groups have been carrying encryption

i am not following your search idea at all... where are you seeing "enc" in the logs?

If you have the group unlocked and priority below the threshold, when there is traffic, the Event Log will record the type of encryption and the key ID (not to be confused with the actual encryption key).

The only issue I see with putting it on the .groups file is that some talkgroups only use encryption intermittently. It wouldn't make sense to flag a talk group as encrypted if most transmissions aren't (a motorway response TG near me only flicks to encryption when dealing with a major incident, otherwise everything is in the open)

i would settle for a flag i can impose when FMPA starts ;-)

here in Florida, when they go "E" - it's "E" - there are very, very few non-federal agencies who have selectable encryption.
