in order to show key id you need to have monitor encryption enabled, the KeyID in the initial frame is not broadcast through the control channel
its sent out over the voice frame header - so it actually has receive an encrypted voice frame with data similar to this

KID: 107C (4220) AlgID: 84 - AES-256

enable this in the menu

It's a feature in the new(est) versions of DSD+ Fast Lane, I'd say about the last 5 versions so you have to be pretty much up to date.
That's right. v2.390 introduced "More changes made to limited encrypted voice following and to tracking and display of encryption algorithms and KID values" and 2.395 "Added display of Algorithm ID and KID for encrypted P25 TDMA calls to event log and Current/Seen Groups window"
I do know that for NXDN scrambling it now explictly shows when KeyID=0 in the newer versions.

ok, just wanted to offer something that I observed today.

I run DSD+ with two airspy SDRs.

with the systems that I monitor, I have 99.9% of the full-time encrypted groups LOCKED OUT... and.....

what I observed today is that IF you have these encrypted groups locked out --- you will not see the key ID or Algorithm information --- so if you are not seeing this data.... it may be because you have those TGs set to "L/O"

once I changed the priority of those ENC TGs.... whammo --- got the key and algo information back on the event log.

That seems reasonable since algid, keyid and message indicator are all voice channel parameters which you'd never receive unless tuning in to the voice channel for the active tg.
