3 hours and I broke it already... This is why we can't have nice things.

Having some difficulty getting FMP to start up. Using a RTL Dongle- with the R820T2 Tuner.

command line input as follows

fmp.exe 1 1 25 461.8000 I get the following error

SDR device count =1
usb_open error -12
Can't open SDR device #1

Will do the same thing if I choose 2 instead. Using windows 8 on a laptop. Dongle will work fine will HDSDR.
I have no other programs open while trying to do this.
Thanks in Advance.

You're just clicking on the file to run it, right?

That doesn't work. You need to make a shortcut that specifies the entire command line that the program expects. Something like FMP 1 1 55 455.0125. Change 55 to whatever the PPM correction value for your dongle is. Change the last part to whatever frequency you want the program to start on.

To make a shortcut, just right-click on the FMP.exe file and you should see an option like "Create shortcut"

In the shortcut properties, the bolded text above goes in the Target box.

Disregard. Needed a reboot and to reinstall drivers using Zadig. again.

I don't understand, if you are using the fmp.exe why would you be using Zadig, that is for SDR Sharp only, right? Just wondering what I missed.

By "target box" you mean the command prompt?

Zadig is a device driver configuration utility. If your RTL sticks aren't paired with the right device driver, they aren't usable - by any of the SDR programs.

DSD Plus 1.071 FMP command line

I am also having problems opening FMP. I must be missing something on the command line. I can open DSDPlus 1.071 with no problem from the command line. I use C:>DSD1.071\DSDPlus.exe (Shortcut works OK, too).

My RTL Dongle - with the R820T2 Tuner info. is FMP 1 1 59 482.6500

I get this prompt - Error processing config file (FPM.cfg)

Any suggestions?

Ditto here as well. I can run DSD 1.07 from the command line change switches etc. but when I open FMP from the command prompt, it closes in about 3 seconds?

I forget the exact verbiage as I'm not in front of a PC at the moment but make sure the 'Start in folder' (or whatever its called) location properly reflects the path to FMP and the cfg file.

What does it say when it closes? Should be an error of some sort I'd imagine.

When You edit the cfg file You have to add the path to DSD+.
I will highlight where it goes.

Code:
1 ; sampling rate (1.0, 2.0 or 2.4)
512 ; spectrum window width
32 ; FFT size (8k, 16k, 32k)
10 ; spectrum update rate in Hz
5000 -6250 7500 12500 15000 25000 ; step size table; units = Hz; negate default
[b]C:\DSDPlus-1.071/[/b] ; DSD+ path
.\FMP-FreqList.csv ; primary frequency list CSV path\filename
.\FMP-RRSystems.csv ; auxiliary frequency list CSV path\filename
miles ; search units (miles or kilometers)
99.9 ; search distance
19.7163 -155.6241 ; search origin

So you type in 'fmp 2 1 20 410.000' (your numbers will be different obviously)... The program starts then exits? No errors reported at all... FMP gives a fair bit of feedback when it starts up or runs into a problem.

Made that change, still closes after about 5 seconds, that is with DSD 1.07 running as well.
