I wonder if someone could clarify the FMP.Scanlist. Seems there is a few discrepancies as how to create this list. This is my last step, everything else is working perfectly, just doesn't scan, thanks.

After You open it press the s key, and it will start scanning.

What I am getting is a message that say: scanner active followed by scanner terminated. I haven't done anything in the FMP cfg file except i added the C:\dsdplus-1.071/ and I was wondering if I have to do anything else in that file?

It needs to be save to a file called FMP.Scanlist
Put it in your DSDPlus directory.

I had the same problem yesterday, it turned out I was saving the scanlist file as type txt not type all files.

I find this type of program to be more stable if I create a batch file with my desired settings and run the program by opening a Command window and then executing the batch file. It gets Windows out of the way.

So I am not really good with files and folders and directories etc. So from what I see I am to make a file in notepad with the info I want to be scanned, I have done that, I save it to my documents folder, done that and then I copy it into DSD 1.7 file? Sorry just not that literate when it comes to this stuff. It seems the only time I ever have to play with files and folder is when dealing with SDR Sharp and now this. So any help for dummies would be appreciated, thanks.

Yes, copy or move it to the DSDPlus1p072 folder. Start scanning on FMP with "S". Stop it with "Esc". If you need to change the file, do so, save it and stop and start scanning again and FMP will pick up the changes.

Step one, were scanning, DSD not scrolling, even though I can hear the digital, it stops for about two seconds and then continues scanning. just needs some fine tuning. Again thanks everyone for all of the help.

I am hearing the digital noise just like you hear when listening to an analog scanner, and I also hear regular analog audio sigbals.
I am having a bad day today ( actually I am off work on a sick day and I think the medication has taken over my brain ). I am using an RTL dongle and a VB Cable to route the signal, I am sure that the signal is piped in, I have it set just like I do for SDR Sharp to DSD.

Here is a stupid question....but I am going to ask it anyway!

Is DSD+ (New Version as of 05.08.2015) a standalone program? Meaning do I need to be running Unitrunker with DSD+ in order for it to decode via piping audio to DSD+?

Not a stupid question at all. I'm not familiar enough with FMP to say if that will suffice as the receiver segment, but so far you need a SDR application to provide audio to DSD+. That's not a very elegant way of saying it, but you need something to feed audio.

Personally I use SDR# and VBCable to feed DSD+.

FMP, as far as I know, is intended as a small, low-CPU/overhead application to pipe audio from an RTL device to an audio output, to "replace" SDR# so you're not killing your CPU.

I am mildly interested in seeing if this will work for other things like, for example, feeding received APRS audio to a "sound card TNC" for an rx-only APRS Igate.

If you can hear the digital noise, you have instructed FMP to send the demodulated audio to your speakers?

The audio needs to be fed to VAC or VBC. FMP will show you which audio device it is sending its audio to. You need to look at that.

Of course, DSD+ has to be listening to the other end of the virtual audio cable link.

Device not detected by FMP.

Hello everybody,

I have a Funcube Dongle Pro with the latest stable firmware connected to my desktop computer and my problem is that it is not detected by FMP. Everything is working fine on SDR# and other radio defined software, but FMP refuses to recognize the dongle. (Error message SDR device count=0). I have done everything from uninstalling and reinstalling the Funcube, to reviewing and updating the firmware, but to no avail.

I know Jay911 had the exact same problem and posted about it. Mtindor came up with the great solution of overwriting the rtlsdr.dll and libusb.dll files from the SDR# install folder and put them in the DSDPlus directory, but my problem has not been solved using this method.

I don’t know what can cause this problem, but if anyone have an idea or a solution, just let me know.

Thanks a lot !

FMP does not support Funcube. We do not have any to develop and test against.
