DSD Plus Gone ?

Hi guys ,

Long story short , my old computer crashed and I lost everything on the hard drive , I have a new computer and want to get DSD plus Fastlane back , I tried contacting DSD plus developers via the email address listed on the website but have not gotten any response , I even went as far as send them another $10 dollars via PayPal and have not received anything , Does anyone know what's going on with them? , have they dropped off the face of the earth? . or did they shut down the DSD plus operation ?

Is there any other confirmed way of contacting them ?
Has anyone dealt with them in 2024 ?
Or does anyone have the latest Fastlane update zip file that they would be able to send me ?

The website at dsdplus.com is working dandy as I type this. There was a recent update. I'm sure they're still going strong. I can only vouch for myself, but I would not, and I doubt anyone else would, send you the updated zip file. Even were someone to do so, it is password protected, said password acquired as a result of subscribing to the Fastlane program. It would be prudent to back up said password in a few different places to avoid such dilemmas.

Asking for people to send you paid software is a big no-no in the forums, be careful your access doesn't get restricted for doing this.

How long ago did you send it? Did you include a current email address in the PayPal comments for them? Please remember, DSD+ isn't run by a company, it is one individual who sometimes gets busy with this thing called life and work and family. If you did what you were supposed to he will get back to you soon.

They are alive and well, have done a couple of updates this year and people have been able to subscribe.

Do you have your original email dsdplusfastlane sent you, that's is the email I would reply too....

Still have your crashed hard drive? Most live versions of Linux have g-parted, you could get your folders

I do have one email from them which was my last update back in 2021 , which was for version 2.275 , the link no longer works unfortunately.

I believe the email you want is dsdplusfastlane@gmail.com. Might be part of why you haven't received any response.

As @Enjoi19 indicated, send to dsdplusfastlane@gmail.com, and do that with the Paypal address you originally signed up with. If your Paypal address changed, make sure to include your original Paypal address in the email. And if you have one of your old emails with a link that no longer works, include that link as well. That way you certain to know that the author has can validate you.

Dave, I can't remember, but I think that when the author used to send all of the updates via email, it was sent from that address. Yes, I just checked my email archive, and the updates that used to be sent via email were sent from that email address.

OP made it sound like, in post #5, that he got the email address from an old email with V275.

He said he sent all emails to dsdplusinformationminister@gmail.com which is not the one on the website.

Take the drive out!!! Slave it to another computer!!!! start other computer and it should ask to scan and fix the bad dr1ve.

Can even use one of these if its just the OS thats shot. These are great for data recovery.

Have you tried spinrite to recover the hard drive? If the drive still spins, and talks with the interface, this software should allow at least some recovery.

No matter what you do, you will still need your original password to update fastlane OR pay for a new one.
