dsd, ubuntu audio help

I'm trying to use a Griffin usb audio dangle and I can't find the command to use it instead of the built in audio. I guess this is the way to get linux to see a different input -i /dev/????/. Next question is: does the settings for audio under preferences have any effect on dsd? Thanks

I got it to work by using dsd -i/dev/audio1
