Trooper Killed in Fatal Crash
Milford- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a state trooper that occurred this morning at approximately 2:06 a.m. on State Route 1 three tenths of a mile north of County Route 206 and 1 mile south of Milford.
A vehicle that had been traveling northbound in the southbound lanes, struck the trooper’s patrol car head-on. The operator of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The trooper was transported to Milford Memorial Hospital where he died a short time later.
Further details of the crash will be released at a press conference, which is being held at the Delaware State Police Museum, located at the Headquarters Complex in Dover, on Monday, July 19, 2004 at 10:30 a.m.
