There is a TG called Snowmac on the DTRS that is snow plow coord on I70 does anyone know the TG I'd for this talk group?

Never heard of it Dave or heard it referenced too but will certainly keep an ear out next weekend in Summit County.

If there is such a talk group it appears to not being used in Clear Creek, Summit or Eagle Counties today at least because we have sideways snow and code 18 just posted on Vail Pass both directions and no unusual TG's are logging on win96com.

Hi Jim,

The reason I inquired is because one of our deters radios was reprogrammed last week for the reason to add snowman and two other talk groups. I was not there to ask the tech what the tg id was. I was told it is for snow plow coord/ops on i70 from Eisenhower to vail.

I will try to find out more. Is there a keypad keystroke combination that one can push that will change the display from alpha listing to the tg Id?

Snow MAC

Has anyone come up with a TG or a county where this is being used?

Yesterday I was on I-70 when Vail Pass was closed and heard nothing but the known TG's. Today I was on Hwy 40 when Rabbit Ears Pass was closed and then on I-70 when it was closed both directions at the tunnel and again nothing, but the usual TG's.

With more snow and high winds coming during the next 48 hours, something should be popping up somewhere.

Could it be one of these? Maybe 2501?

Here's the user guide for that radio with that control head, but I don't see anything in it that says how to change the Tgrp display from the alpha name to the TGID.

I don't remember hearing 2501 in use Sunday. I wonder if CSP has it in Craig and Denver Dispatch or the CSP cars. The first clue that 6B had that Vail Pass was closed was when 6B2 found traffic backed up into Summit County. 4C had been very active with a Trooper requesting every available Eagle County rotation tow to respond to the pass. I'll look back thru radio memories tonight to see if any of them stored 2501 either day.

2502 and 2507 were very active yesterday.

Also 6B Frisco is using 154.695 for their Tac channel, not DTR.

And on Rabbit Ears Pass yesterday, interesting disagreement over putting in a code 18. If CSP 4B and CDOT 6K units have a common TG they didn't use it and the Craig dispatcher was caught in the middle.

8953 - CDOT Hanging Lake Tunnel Mutual Aid Channel

I wouldn't suspect that these would be in use for every snow storm, but would be saved for when there are long closures of the interstate due to snow.

I hear traffic on HLT MAC most every day in the winter but never have heard anything on Ike MAC.

Yes simplex on the old 6B Tac, same as 6A uses 155.505 for Tac.

154.445 use to be a Grand County Fire channel. 155.445 was a West Slope CSP channel.

4B and CDOT 6K always have an argument over putting codes on rabbit ears 4B calls for it but CDOT says not. one of these days there will be a huge fight over it.
