Dual 05 Mounting Options

Looking to mount two 05 control heads on the mounting arm i have installed. I have the brackets but i am struggling for ideas on the best way to mount them.
i was thinking something similar to this and just turning it vertical! This just mount the brackets to it

However, I wanted to see if anyone would share some pictures or ideas of their dual head setups.

About the only need for dual head is like a head in the cab of a fire truck and another in a utility rack.
You still have to select which head functions.

is this going on like a ram mount or similar thing? That fish finder mount you linked looks like it would work fine for that

It is in fact going on a ram(ibolt) style mount. I decided to go with the plate from Amazon. Once i get the other bracket in, i will share a picture of the completed mount.

I finally got both heads mounted. Its not as stable as i would like but it works for the time being

It definitely draws the eyes more to the bottom one. Its taking some getting used to honestly.

Would be nice if motorola would produce a dual control head trunnion similar to the dual deck trunnion. (HLN7045A)

They did back in the Micor days.

why not just use one mount, and a couple pieces of flat aluminum to extend from the thumb screws up to the next head, just stack them right on top of eachother

That's what I did in a work vehicle. First control head used a regular bracket and then the second control head used a couple of flat steel pieces to secure it to the first.

Two heads is uncommon? Or two remoted heads is uncommon? This is a very common installation practice in ambulances from atleast 3 vendors I can think of.

WE have dual and triple control heads in many of our SAR vehicles....not uncommon at all.

I have/rigged a dual control head mount as well. It works very well even with non paved roads. VHF/UHF & HF control heads. Flexible arm using a seat bolt mount. It’s either a RAM or Lido. I also used a flat piece as well. A few small bolts and nuts from Lowe’s and done. Yaesu 400XDR and a Kenwood 480SAT, so not the lightest control heads.

WE have dual and triple control heads in many of our SAR vehicles....not uncommon at all.

We’re waiting to move to 700 and we’re still using 433.xxx. It’s packed in to the main channel.
