When monitoring Air Route Traffic Control Centers, ARTC’s like Houston ZHU you have duplicate frequencies used at various RCAG sites and Sectors. For example 135.775 MHz AM is listed for:

Sector Ocean East Lo/Hi Florida RCAG sites Key West

Sector Ocean East Lo/Hi Gulf RCAG Gulf of Mexico South Timbailer

Sector Oceans East Lo/Hi Louisiana RCAG Grand Isle

When the scanner picks up a transmission on 135.775 it’s going to stop on the first of any one of the three RCAG it comes across and you really don’t know where the airplane is. Therefore to,speed up the scanner two of the listings can be deleted. Isn’t this correct or what am I missing? Thanks/

I would say duplicates if it covered the same area and had different TAGs, but this seems to be three different sectors - yes frequencies get re-used all the time in different sectors

They are all used for Sector 72 Ocean East. This one sector covers a large area over the Gulf of America (Mexico), south to the border with Mexican and Cuban airspace, hence the need for multiple RCAG locations.

I'm curious what the OP, or anyone in the area, is able hear on 135.775 ? Can you hear the controllers ?
